There is a little of a disappointment after playing on your home course and not beeing able to play for the podium! I had way too many loose shots that put me in trouble. The driver was once again the problem, once or twice a round i lost a ball ending up with a double and if you want to be in the mix those are the mistake to avoid! I'll rest for a few days now after a long stretch of tournament and sponsors day.

I sent two invitations request for the Sunshine Tour, one at the end of the month and the other during the Omega Masters. To be able to qualify for Crans i need to win all the next tournament, which is possible but it's still a touhg task! Anyway my priority for this year is to get a major Tour Card for next year (European, Sunshine, Challenge Tour).

„Friends of Alexandre Chopard“ Day2, Blumisberg

Nach dem erfolgreichen ersten Golftag des Clubs „Friends of Alexandre Chopard“ von anfangs Saison erwarteten 29 Mitglieder mit Spannung diesen zweiten Memberday  Das Wetter präsentierte sich bestens und die Sonne kam kurz nach dem ersten Abschlag den ganzen Tag hindurch zum Vorschein. Ein perfekter Tag zum Golfen. Wiederum präsentierte der Präsident Gilbert M. Vollmer den Tagesablauf. Nach einem kleinen Aufwärmen auf der Driving Range oder beim Café unter Freunden ging es dann mit der Formel „3 Ball best 2 Balls“ auf die Runde. Alex Chopard begleitete jeden Flight über 2 Löcher und beindruckte den einen oder anderen mit seiner Leichtigkeit und Präzision. Der Golfplatz Blumisberg präsentierte sich hervorragend und ist nach dem erfolgreichen Umbau eine echte Herausforderung für alle. Das wohlverdiente Mittagessen nach den ersten neun Löchern wurde auf der Terrasse eingenommen. Die Grilladen und der Wein machten es einzelnen Teilnehmern schwer aufzustehen und die restlichen neun Löcher zu spielen! Am Ziel angelangt war das Bier sehr gefragt. Das anschliessende Nachtessen - von der Küche des  Clubrestaurants hervorragend gekocht und vom Servierpersonal sehr gepflegt serviert - wurde durch die mit Spannung erwartete Rangverkündigung kurz unterbrochen. Es gab viele Spezialwertungen, sodass fast jeder Teilnehmer einen Preis gewinnen konnte. Sieger waren schlussendlich sowieso alle Teilnehmer. Die Netto-Teamwertung mit einem sehr guten Score haben Peter Wiesner, Heidi Vogel und Rolf Müller angeführt. Alex Chopard hat sich noch in einer netten Ansprache bei allen Mitgliedern für ihr Engagement bedankt und zu verstehen gegeben, dass ihm der Club sehr viel Freude bereite. Wie wir alle wissen ist das Leben eines Golfpros ja eh ein schwieriges Unterfangen. Bis spät in die Nacht wurde dann über den schönen Tag und das Verpassen einzelner Putts noch geredet, bevor man dann die Heimfahrt antrat. Viele freuen sich auf den nächsten Clubanlass, eine Golfreise nach Castelconturbia/ Bogogno vom 17. August bis 19. August.

I'm just about to leave for Zurich for the Zurich Open practice round! Monday and thuesday i'm playing the biggest and maybe the best paid pro-am in Europe. On wednesday i will follow with the Credit Suisse Challenge pro-am and the next day starts the tournament. I'm looking forward because the forme is there, still! Payerne was not as good as i wanted, my stomach did some crazy stuff during the rounds! As we say, we learn from mistakes! I should avoid some special food before a tournament round!!

We have all the picture of Crans-Montana for the Omega Masters...but last week it was a real mountain course! I'm not finding excuses but greens like that for such a big tournament, it's unacceptable! On the top no range open...the only way of warming up was hitting balls in a net. I need to find my rythme in the morning and in the nets it's really difficult. Well i need to forget that week because otherwise i would loose confidence in my putting, greens were so bad that a 50cm putt was a nightmare to putt! I have now 10 days to get back in good shape after a lots of tournaments and pro-ams in a row!

Finally after two times 2nd on the SwissPGA Tour, i won on my thrid attempt. It wasn't really expected because Claudio was -11 on the 18th tee box which was the par 3 downhill with water. I was signing my card when a friend told me "he went into the water" i really thought it was a joke...but a moment later i saw Claudio dropping the ball! i was in the club house on -10 watching if he could up and down for a play-off or not! His putt missed the hole which gave me the victory! I'm really pleased of my consistent play, -5 and -5 and no bogey on the last day, really solid! Next step , Mémorial Barras, maybe my best chance to win a spot for the Omega Masters next september!
